Demo day at Ulf and Leifs'

Finally there. After 1200 kilometers of travelling from Log Max headquarters in Grangärde, we had arrived to the right coordinates. A little bit to chilly, but a nice and clear day for demonstration was ready to begin.

The stand where working was a very nice thinning where the average volume per stem was around 0,10 m³. A number of invitations had been sent out and a few contractors showed up to watch and try out the Log Max 5000C. The large well needed log-fire helped keep the warmth, and Log Max served appreciated refreshments.

The last few years, Log Max has, in Sweden, delivered close to 70 heads on Valmet harvesters, which is understandable when seeing how well they work together. The head’s dependability is outstanding, leading to the contractor being able to focus on what’s most important – producing.

During the first 5000 hours on Ulf and Leif’s head, they have replaced two hydraulic hoses, which is slightly better than average (usually one hose per 1000 hours), and to everyone’s satisfaction. When discussing measuring, an important part of any felling job, the last check performed by Ulf and Leif showed a deviation of 1%, which is approved.

When the demo day had come to an end and the barbecue had been finished, we packed our stuff and headed south towards Log Max AB. A very nice and interesting day had been carried out and our plan is to have demodays throughout the forest all the way to the south of Sweden.
