Big News for small...

Big News for small...

Our goal with the Log Max 3000T was to engineer a lighter and more compact head. That meant redesigning the frame and saw box geometry to make it not only lighter and slimmer but also better. The result is efficient harvesting for harvesters in the 10 to 14 ton class working on first cuts and thinning.
This powerful thinning head weighs 623 kg*, making it the obvious choice for long reach booms. The Log Max 3000T equipped with the first-generation Log Max 218 and 318 True-Cut saw units, features improved hydraulic performance, and has up to 56 cm of cut capacity.

AN IMPRESSIVE NEW SAW UNIT THE LOG MAX TRUE-CUT

AN IMPRESSIVE NEW SAW UNIT THE LOG MAX TRUE-CUT

The key component of the True-Cut system is the intelligent saw motor with integrated valving solutions for saw motor speed and saw bar control.

By continuously sensing the motor speed and adjusting the saw bar feed rate accordingly, the True-Cut maintains an almost constant chain speed of 40 m/s throughout the cutting cycle. This yields an impressive cutting performance - the True-Cut is up to 35 % faster than conventional saw units! By locating the valve for motor speed control inside the motor it is able to react instantly to changes in motor speed and practically eliminate any over-revving that is seen in a conventional saw unit. Not only does this reduce the stress on the motor but it also provides a safer work environment by reducing the risk of chain shots. The True-Cut saw units also features a longer stroke cylinder and a higher resolution cutting control sensor. These additions provide for a more precise control of the saw bar resulting in maximized cutting performance and color marking precision. The True-Cut is optimized at the factory and should not need any further setting changes in the field.

New frame geometry

New frame geometry

The new frame geometry improves length and diameter measuring, the upper part of the frame has been brought forward to prevent bark from clogging in the measuring wheel hole.

The saw box geometry for positioning of the saw and cylinder allows for better control over the sawing cycle and performs a continuous and accurate cut in less time.

Updated hydraulics

Updated hydraulics

The 3000T receives a new inlet manifold.

On the feed motors side of the manifold, all banjo fittings have been removed resulting in a reduced pressure drop and more efficient feed unit. As standard the head is equipped with two 364 cc hydraulic feed motors which delivers 16,8 kN of torque and up 4,8 m/s feeding speed. An optional 398 cc is able to feed at 4,3 m/s, the maximum feeding force is 19,1 kN. All hydraulic connections are now of ORFS type.

Highlights of the new Log Max 3000T at a glance

  • 623 kg including rotator, feed rollers and damped protection plate.
  • New Log Max True-Cut 318 and 218 with 19 cc intelligent motor (with/without automatic chain tensioning).
  • Chain shot protection both at saw bar center and tip
  • 364 cc or 398 cc feed roller motors
  • Optimized saw box geometry and saw unit position that minimize the risk for splitting the log when cutting and reducing cutting time
  • Updated hydraulic inlet manifold
